Privacy Policy
Plain English, no legal maze. Here's exactly what we collect and what we do with it.
Last updated: October 4, 2026
What we collect
- ▸Email address — when you subscribe to the newsletter. That's the only personal information we ask for.
- ▸Links you scan — when you paste a URL into our scanner, we check it and log the result so we can improve detection. We do not tie scanned links to your identity.
- ▸Basic usage data — like most websites, our hosting provider may log standard technical information (browser type, pages visited) to keep the site running and secure.
What we do with it
- ▸Send you the weekly scam alert email you signed up for.
- ▸Deliver your free guide and occasional important security announcements.
- ▸Improve the scanner and the challenges on the site.
What we never do
- ▸We never sell, rent, or trade your email address to anyone.
- ▸We never share your information with advertisers or data brokers.
- ▸We never send you spam. One email a week, plus rare urgent alerts.
Third-party services
- ▸Our newsletter is delivered through Beehiiv, our email platform. Your email address is stored there so we can send you the newsletter.
- ▸Our link scanner checks URLs against Google Safe Browsing, a service that flags known dangerous sites. The URL you submit is checked against their database.
- ▸These services only receive what's needed to do their job — nothing more.
Your choices
- ▸Unsubscribe anytime — every email has a one-click unsubscribe link at the bottom. No hoops, no guilt trips.
- ▸Delete your data — email info@redflagweekly.com with the subject “Delete my data” and we'll remove your email address from our systems within 30 days.
- ▸Ask questions — wondering what we have on you? Just ask. Email info@redflagweekly.com.
Data security
- ▸We store your email address in encrypted, access-controlled systems. We practice what we preach: strong passwords, two-factor authentication, and minimal access.
- ▸No system is 100% unbreakable, but protecting your trust is the entire point of this site — we take it seriously.
Children
- ▸Red Flag Weekly is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
- ▸If we ever change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and note the date below. If the change is significant, we'll tell you by email before it happens.
Contact
- ▸Questions about this policy? Email info@redflagweekly.com. A real person reads every message.
The short version: we collect your email to send you scam alerts. We never sell it. You can leave anytime.
